Dr. Hayley Merkeley is originally from southeastern BC. She completed medical school, internal medicine and hematology at UBC prior to completing a fellowship in red cell disorders at the University of Toronto. Her main research and academic interests are in sickle cell anemia, thalassemia, ITP and prophyrias. She is also involved in medical education at UBC and global health projects.
