The Leukemia/Bone Marrow Transplant Program at Vancouver General Hospital provides care for all adults in BC and the Yukon requiring a bone marrow transplant and 80% of adults with acute leukemia. Annually, the program evaluates approximately 100 new patients with acute leukemia and performs over 200 bone marrow transplants. Of these transplants:
- 22% are related allogeneic donor transplants
- 14% are unrelated allogeneic donor transplants
- 64% are autologous transplants
A large, dedicated, multidisciplinary team provides care for leukemia/blood and marrow transplant patients in partnership with the British Columbia Cancer Agency. Our goal is to work with patients to achieve the very best treatment available. To learn more about our program and the diseases we treat, visit the Leukemia/BMT Program Website.
